The South is permanent press. It doesn't wash out.
Personally, I would have preferred the option of: "If you like your sugar cookie, you can keep your sugar cookie."
I live in Illinois and bake sales have been banned at the public school my kids attend for several years because the items were not baked in an inspected commercial kitchen. :(
