I like my 9mm because it's not as expensive every time I burn through two boxes at the range. The expensive Corbon JHP's are what go in the mag when it's not on the range.
In the days of all ammo being full metal jacket, .45 was sort of 'better". Now that we have very good jacketed hollow points that are designed to stay inside the bad guy and reduce the risk of over penetration, it's really, really leveled the playing field. Lexington County SD has switched to 9mm, for a reason. The SCHP switched to .45 GAP without any understanding of ballistics, specifically sectional density. 9mm offers more ammo in the firearm and reduced recoil for casual (police) shooters.
And thank God Randy Scott seems to be on top of his game. :)
