Maybe we'll get into the Martin/Zimmerman case later. Lawyer dog has been busy researching the news, though. If you have any legal troubles, feel free to write in to Lawyer Dog. He's always looking for new clients.
Martin/Zimmerman is lots of fail on all sides. IMHO, going to be some interesting books about the case and incident.
An interesting and horrifying case right here in River City is the State vrs. Jason Dickey. I think you would enjoy reading the SC Supreme Court's opinion reversing the lower courts.
Good find. I knew about the Court of Appeals decision, but I hadn't seen the SC Supreme Court's reversal. Although I usually keep up with the advance sheets, 9/26/11 is my son's birthday, so I was otherwise occupied.
IMHO, I think the Supreme Court got this one right. Slightly different facts than Martin/Zimmerman, but close.
Grass Roots SC (GRSC) was heavily involved in the case from the start. Bottom line is that Jason spent four years in jail before acquittal. If GRSC hadn't helped fund his appeal, Jason would still be there.
