Eugene Volokh has a piece on his blog in the WaPo where he drops some knowledge on everyone about the the First Amendment and the erroneous idea of a "hate speech" exception. When you read his piece, it kind of has the tone of an exasperated father telling his child something again, and again.
I have enjoyed watching Volokh on this Muslim foolishness and like what he has had to say.
ReplyDeleteBut, even as a South Carolina Redneck, I do not need him to explain the very plain and understandable FIRST item in THE BILL OF RIGHTS:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Ratified 1791

Quite possibly I could successfully argue that my religion requires me, in my free exercise of it, to confront and/or mock evil wherever I might find it. I also believe that I could successfully argue that Islam is more evil than Hitler (our culture's benchmark of evil) ever had a chance to become.
And here, gratuitously, I offer a portrait of Mohammad, their prophet (>_<).
